We have all heard the saying “Quality not Quantity” in terms of exercise. Most people don’t train this way though. I always hear people talking about spending 2 hours at the gym, 6 days a week. First of all that is not a realistic amount of time to spend at the gym for most people. Second, if they are actually spending that much time exercising they are not doing something right. When you workout to the right intensity you should not want to or be able to workout for that long.
What does this mean for you? This means that even if you have only 20 minutes to spend exercising on any given day you can still get an amazing workout in. Get your gear on, head outside and do your thing. If you are feeling a little mindless and just want to get a sweat going try doing sprint drills. Start with a 5 minute warm up jog and go into 10 one minute sprints. Sprint as fast as you can for one minutes followed by a 30 seconds jog and repeat 10 times. In 20 minutes you can burned between 200-300 calories. If you have the time, end with a 5 minute stretch.
That is one basic routine that you can do with limited time but there are literally thousands of choices, so if you only have 20 minutes use it wisely.
